The big event of this year is, of course, the visit of our friends from Authie and Carpiquet. We are expecting around 80 people in total. See below for latest programme.
Friday, 14th May 2010
- 5:30pm: Coaches from France arrive North Baddesley Junior School and hosts take their guests home for dinner (suggest main course only)
- 7:45pm onwards: Informal gathering at All Saints Church Hall in Rownhams Road with dessert and coffee. If hosts wish to bring wine and glasses feel free to do so. Evening to finish about 10 p.m.
Saturday, 15th May, 2010
- Breakfast with hosts (please provide picnic for lunch for hosts and their guests).
- 10am: Assemble at NB Junior School for coach to Portchester Castle. There will be two French coaches and one English coach. Cars cannot be left at the school this year but some can be left at All Saints Church in Rownhams Road. We will be divided into three groups once we reach Portchester.
- 11am: Arrive at Portchester Castle. Three groups will go on tours of the Castle, Keep and Church – there will be someone in charge of each group. We will have French translations of the Guide for our visitors.
- 12:30pm – Hosts will provide a picnic lunch for themselves and their guests. Location will be dependent upon the weather.
- 1:30pm: Groups will do the remainder of the tours
- 3:30pm approx: Coaches leave Portchester for Middle Wallop Air Museum
- 4.30 p.m. Hope to arrive at museum – there is quite a lot for children to do there as well. We will have the run of the museum to ourselves.
- 6.30 p.m. Hog Roast, actually in the Museum There will be music provided during the evening and a raffle.
- 10:30pm approx: Coaches leave Middle Wallop for NB Junior School.
Sunday, 16th May, 2010
- Morning free with hosts- please provide lunch.
- UPDATE 12:30pm latest Assemble at NB Junior School for farewell to our guests
- Coaches leave for France immediatley.
